Here's what brought me to this work.
Starting over taught me to ask better questions.
MY STORY
I had a career I expected to keep.
Then came the part I could not schedule or control. Two divorces. Years of chronic illness that left me mostly housebound. My teaching had moved online during the pandemic, which is how I kept working, but for stretches of it I still needed a wheelchair or a walker to move around.
In August 2025, a change in federal policy ended my teaching contract at the State Department. My health insurance went with the job, and so did my housing. I was 46, alone, sick, and out of options in a country I had lived in for more than two decades.
By December, I had moved back to Bulgaria, where I was born, and started over. Recovery has not been quick or easy. I am still rebuilding my life, my health, and my sense of direction, and I am working on my business at the same time.
This whole experience changed what I think good business advice looks like.
I have worked in hospitality management, IT business analysis, and language teaching. For more than two decades I lived in the Washington, DC area. At my last job I taught Bulgarian to American diplomats at the U.S. State Department, and I expected to retire from it.
THE WHOLE PICTURE MATTERS
Starting over can bring real fear about what comes next. Treating it like an exciting rebranding exercise misses what is at stake when your time, health, and money are already stretched.
When you're managing pain or exhaustion, a plan that assumes unlimited energy is of little use. If you're watching every expense, advice built around savings and a safety net can feel just as far removed from your life.
You deserve guidance that takes all of that into account.
Good business advice has to fit the life you actually have.

In business analysis and quality assurance, the work was finding the problem before proposing a solution, then testing that solution. I bring that habit of questioning assumptions to business ideas.

Teaching that makes things clear
Teaching Bulgarian to American diplomats meant making complicated things understandable and usable. I bring that same care to explaining what the evidence means and what to do next.
A view across different industries & markets
Hospitality, IT, and teaching showed me different ways businesses operate and earn money. After more than 23 years in the U.S., mostly around Washington, DC, I now work from Europe and consider both markets.
Experience of starting again
Career uncertainty and rebuilding are part of my life. I understand why an idea needs to make sense for your capacity and circumstances as well as for a potential customer.

I ask the uncomfortable questions early and tell you what I find, including when it isn't the answer you hoped for.
AI tools help me research and organize my thinking. An AI response is not proof. Claims, competitors, pricing, and market signals still need to be checked and interpreted in context.
I also build things myself. My free AI Business Validator, now redesigned as The AI Business Idea Finder, was downloaded more than 400 times in two months.

You don't have to erase your past or become a completely different person to build something meaningful.
